• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulations, and perform other Pharmacy Department duties in line with company policies and procedures.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. If PTCB certified, coach pharmacy technicians and cashiers in system usage.
• Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them, offering assistance, resolving issues and answering questions to ensure a positive experience.
• Share customer‑service best practices with team members, including greeting, eye contact, courtesy, proactive help, needs assessment, and satisfaction.
• Develop strong relationships with key customers.
• Assist in the practice of pharmacy under pharmacist supervision, review and comply with the Walgreen Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
• Enter patient and drug information accurately, fill prescriptions, verify medication, check for interactions, and assist pharmacists in scheduling and workflow.
• Report prescription errors immediately and follow company policies on errors and the Quality Improvement Program.
• Adhere strictly to Good Faith Dispensing policy during applicable prescription dispensing.
• Register sales on the assigned cash register, handle cash and assist customers in the OTC aisle when possible.
• Handle non‑pharmacist telephone calls, including those to physicians.
• Process manual claims for third‑party prescription services and perform other clerical duties as assigned.
• Support inventory management: ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing pharmaceutical shipments; maintain asset protection knowledge and file claims for overages, shortages, or damaged goods.
• Assist with clinical services such as collecting and labeling blood/urine samples and coordinating with Walgreens healthcare clinics and external providers.
• Build relationships with the local medical community, including physicians, nurses, and other providers, through detailing and outreach.
• Maintain pharmacy department supplies, cleanliness, and overall appearance.
• Follow all company policies, maintain respectful coworker relationships, and complete special assignments as assigned.
• Earn and maintain PTCB certification via the designated training program or state registration; condition for promotion to senior technician.
• Attend training, complete PPLs, and acquire continuing education credits to stay current in pharmacy knowledge.

• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

• At least six months of retail experience.
• Prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Strong math skills for accurate prescription filling (counting, measuring, weighing).
• Computer proficiency.
• Knowledge of store inventory control.
• PTCB certification.
