We are actively seeking an
ACCOUNTANTwho will own the Accounts Payable cycle end to end while contributing to General Ledger accounting, financial closing, Swiss VAT and external audit. This is a hands-on role with a high degree of autonomy, suited to someone who applies sound accounting judgement and looks for ways to improve how Finance works.
Key Activity:- Take end-to-end ownership of the Accounts Payable cycle, including invoice processing, supplier matters, payment preparation and expense management.
- Play an active role in monthly, quarterly and year-end closing activities, including balance sheet reconciliations and key General Ledger areas.
- Support Swiss VAT compliance and interim and year-end external audits.
- Bring strong accounting judgement, ownership and a continuous improvement mindset to the Finance function.
- Take end-to-end ownership of the Accounts Payable cycle, from invoice receipt and supplier communication through to accounting and preparation of payments.
- Ensure supplier invoices are accurately and timely recorded, appropriately supported and processed in accordance with company policies and internal controls.
- Oversee the AP mailbox, supplier accounts and related master data, ensuring effective follow-up and proactive resolution of discrepancies.
- Prepare supplier payment runs, ensuring completeness and accuracy before submission for approval.
- Take ownership of the company's expense management tool and related processes and continuously identify opportunities to improve, standardize and automate AP activities.
- Contribute actively to monthly, quarterly and year-end closings alongside the Senior Accounting Manager.
- Take ownership of assigned balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring balances are properly substantiated and reconciling items are investigated and resolved.
- Prepare and/or review accounting entries relating to payroll, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and other closing adjustments.
- Play an active role in interim and year-end external audits, working directly with auditors on assigned areas.
- Prepare Swiss VAT returns and related reconciliations.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and comply with Swiss statutory, IFRS requirements and internal policies.
- Bachelor’s degree or professional qualification in Accounting, Finance or equivalent.
- 3-4 years of hands-on accounting experience across Accounts Payable, General Ledger, account reconciliations and month-end/year-end closing.
- Good practical knowledge of Swiss statutory accounting and Swiss VAT requirements.
- Experience preparing for and supporting external audits.
- Previous experience in a fiduciary or accounting firm would be a strong advantage.
- Exposure to IFRS reporting would be an advantage.
- Strong Excel skills; experience with Abacus would be a strong advantage.
- Strong analytical skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Well organized, able to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Hands-on, autonomous and accountable, with the ability to take ownership of accounting activities from start to finish.
- Collaborative, flexible and solutions-oriented, with the ability to work effectively in an international and fast-paced environment.
- Fluent in English;
French is highly desirable.
