KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Working under the direction of the Quality Manager, the Drone Validation Test Pilot’s primary responsibilities are to provide independent and objective feedback regarding:

  • Flight Test Execution (est. 80%):
    • Plan, execute and document established flight test plans to support product development from early‑stage design concepts, validation campaigns through pre‑delivery sign‑off flights.
    • Collaborate with the R&D, Quality and Operations teams on the development of new flight test plans, validation protocols and acceptance criteria for sense

      Fly’s current and future products.
    • Maintain an unwavering commitment to safety during all flight and bench test activity, including supporting the continued development of sense

      Fly’s Safety Management and Emergency Response plans.
    • Become familiar with drone construction techniques to troubleshoot and perform authorized repairs and/or maintenance in the field.
    • Translate flight experience and customer feedback into recommended product updates.
    • Analyze flight performance using sense

      Fly’s proprietary data logging applications.
    • Prepare written test reports and lead debrief sessions with R&D, Product Management and Operations at the conclusion of testing programs.
    • Participate in design reviews, providing the Pilot’s perspective on usability and reliability.
  • Customer Support (est. 20%):
    • Able to interact with customers to support occasional demonstration flights field both on‑ and off‑site.
    • Assist in field incident reconstruction and analysis.
    • Assist with the development of new and the refinement of existing sense

      Fly operator training material and technical support articles.
    • Communicate trends and common customer concerns to Product Management and Engineering along with recommendations for improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • 3+ Years of UAV flight experience with a demonstrated strong safety record.
  • 1+ Years of experience supporting UAS R&D programs, preferably for an OEM manufacturer.
  • Knowledge of EASA UAS regulations (A2 certificate required), experience with STS, BVLOS Operations; US 107 license a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to interact with a range of people including key customers, business managers, R&D engineers, technicians, and operators.
  • Highly proficient in written and spoken French with business‑level English. German language skills are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% for test campaigns and customer demonstrations.
