Overview
We are looking for a Late-Founder CTO (Switzerland, on-site)
At Neology, we are building a deep-tech energy company focused on ammonia cracking and hydrogen generation. This is not a software startup, not a consulting role, and not a corporate position. This is hard, industrial, high-risk engineering, aimed at real-world deployment.
This is a founding-level role, with significant equity, long-term upside, and real responsibility.
What we are buildingNeology develops integrated systems combining:
- Ammonia cracking & hydrogen production
- Catalysts and catalytic reactors
- Thermal management & electrical / catalytic heating
- Gas purification (sorbents, molecular sieves, membranes)
- Hydrogen separation and conditioning
- Control systems, electronics & power electronics
- Industrial manufacturing, welding, ATEX & hydrogen safety
We are moving from advanced prototypes toward pilot and industrial systems, where execution, safety, and robustness matter more than theory.
Who we are looking forThis role is not for everyone, and we are intentionally selective.
You should have:
- Hands-on experience with hydrogen systems (mandatory)
- Hands-on experience with ammonia systems (mandatory)
- A background in chemical engineering, process engineering, or chemical-related mechanical systems
- Experience designing and realizing real industrial hardware
- Strong exposure to safety, certification, ATEX, and industrial compliance
- Experience in startups or scale-ups
- The ability to own product vision, technical strategy, and execution
- A hands-on mindset: installing systems, supporting demonstrations, working on-site with partners and clients
- French required or very strong, English fluent (other languages are a plus)
- Either:
- solid experience within the Swiss industrial / startup ecosystem, or
- the ability to relocate to Switzerland independently (visa-free or self-managed)
This is a role for someone who understands what it takes to turn complex chemical systems into reliable products.
What this role actually involves- Owning the technical vision, product roadmap, and execution
- Leading engineering decisions from architecture to implementation
- Being deeply involved in product development and scale-up
- Supporting installation, commissioning, demonstrations, and early deployments
- Ensuring safety, certification, and industrial readiness
- Representing Neology at technical events, demos, and industry discussions
- Acting as a true founding technical leader, not just a manager
In the short term, this role is strongly product- and execution-focused, not sales-driven.
Why consider it- Late-founder equity package (not a standard employee role)
- Real ownership of technology, product, and direction
- Opportunity to build a category-defining ammonia-to-hydrogen solution
- High risk, high responsibility — and exceptional upside
This is not a casual opportunity. We are looking for serious profiles only, aligned with the level of commitment this role requires.
ContactIf this resonates, feel free to reach out directly or apply via Linked In. We will use strict screening and engage only with candidates who clearly match the requirements.
