Position: Environmental Consulting Associate (Geologist, Hydrogeologist or Environmental Engineer)

ERM Swiss GmbH is seeking a motivated market-facing Consultant to join Central Europe’s Corporate Sustainability Service team as a Managing Consultant, with primary focus on business development and project management to ultimately establish deeper relationships with our clients. The role will preferably be based in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Primary Responsibilities
  • You will support the Site Investigation & Remediation (SI&R) team in the investigation of contaminated sites, the evaluation of restructuring strategies and the implementation of restructurings.
  • They help our customers to develop a targeted restructuring strategy and implement it.
  • You will take over the management and coordination of projects (preparation of offers, budget control, invoicing, occupational safety, planning of investigations, coordination of subcontractors, reporting, adherence to deadlines, etc.) in close and ongoing coordination with the rest of the team and your superiors.
  • You will become part of our team of experts for underground and groundwater remediation, in particular for variant studies, feasibility studies, remediation planning and remediation monitoring.
  • You will take part in internal technical events (Technical Community Calls) and internal training courses (e.g. project management) and actively participate.
  • You, like any other ERM employee, take an active role in planning occupational safety and preventing accidents or damage to health.
Key Skills & Competencies
  • Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field with proven experience in contaminated site investigation, groundwater remediation, and project management.
  • Strong knowledge of site investigation methods, remediation planning, variant and feasibility studies, and the ability to analyze complex environmental data.
  • Experience in project coordination, budgeting, proposal preparation, subcontractor management, and adherence to safety, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to knowledge sharing and training activities.
  • Strong commitment to occupational health and safety practices, risk identification, and accident prevention.
  • Self-motivated, solution-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with Swiss environmental regulations and tools.
  • Fluency in French and English is essential.
