Mission
Hyperbolic groups are central objects in Geometric Group Theory. Anosov representations of these groups are thought to be linear versions of these groups: many objects naturally associated with hyperbolic groups have a linear avatar in the presence of an Anosov representation.
MissionHyperbolic groups are central objects in Geometric Group Theory. Anosov representations of these groups are thought to be linear versions of these groups: many objects naturally associated with hyperbolic groups have a linear avatar in the presence of an Anosov representation.
For instance, the boundary at infinity of a hyperbolic group naturally embeds as a subset of a flag manifold for an Anosov representation.
The AnSur project aims to study the global geometry of the space of deformations of Anosov representations, with a strong emphasis on positive ones and their relation with Geometric Analysis. Our goal is to use various techniques from geometric PDE to combinatorics in that study. Notably, we wish to study how asymptotic data, such as the limit set in the flag manifold, interact with solutions of PDEs of geometric origin, for instance, those of Higgs bundle origin.
