It also collaborates with public and private authorities including the United Nations and other international organisations.

About the role:

As the Sports Data Specialist, your mission is to support Olympic Programme Unit with the review and analysis of the Olympic Programme and other strategic data projects through the collection, validation, management, analysis and governance of data. You will also ensure information is treated as a strategic asset through consistent information management practices that enhance decision-making, strengthen engagement with International Federations, and enable future digital and AI-driven capabilities.

Your

  • Support the collection, integration and analysis of data, key performance indicators and actionable insights relating to sport and the Olympic Programme.

  • Contribute to the prioritisation and evolution of sports data solutions by gathering user requirements and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with IOC functional areas and external partners to deliver end user needs by designing, building, maintaining and evolving data products; defining requirements and supporting the implementation and roll-out of enhancements.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to data collection, governance and information management processes, supporting their effective implementation.
  • Maintain a strong end-user focus, ensuring data, reporting tools and insights effectively support the needs of International Federations and IOC decision-making bodies.
  • Contribute to the evolution of digital and data solutions, including relevant AI-enabled capabilities, that strengthen Olympic Programme analysis, reporting and evidence-based decision-making.
  • Support the team in the use of the generated insights through preparation of presentations, reports or data visualisations for meetings and workshops.
  • Manage team project planning and tracking tools, supporting the monitoring of progress and deliverables across sports data initiatives.
What you bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in a related professional role.
  • Experience with reporting tools, specifically Power BI, for dashboard development and data visualisation.
  • Experience of designing and maintaining multi-dimensional data models, and associated BI tooling would be an advantage.
  • Experience with cloud native data platforms and associated tooling for data ingestion, validation, cleaning, wrangling and pipeline driven automation, in particular Python and associated popular data preparation packages, would be an advantage.
  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Digital products and AI-enabled tools.
  • The opportunity to join a one-of-a-kind, values-driven organisation with a unique mission in the world.

A key role in contributing towards key informed decision making for the Olympic Movement

  • Exposure to a truly global ecosystem spanning sport, technology, media and entertainment.
  • The chance to work in a multicultural environment at the intersection of sport, business and innovation.
  • A flexible and rewarding workplace in Lausanne, with a strong focus on well-being and sustainability.
