For one of our leading industrial clients, we are looking for a Senior Industrial Procurement Transformation Consultant - Contract Manufacturing, Mechanical Assembly & Strategic Sourcing
.
This assignment aims to support a major industrial transformation initiative focused on contract manufacturing, outsourcing strategy, supplier footprint optimization and procurement operating model design. The consultant will play a key role in defining the future sourcing strategy, building contract manufacturing capabilities, coaching procurement teams and supporting recruitment.
1. Define the Contract Manufacturing & Category Strategy- Develop a mid-to-long-term sourcing strategy (5-year horizon).
- Define the future sourcing footprint, including nearshoring and outsourcing scenarios.
- Lead make-or-buy assessments and industrial sourcing recommendations.
- Design supplier segmentation and target supplier panel architecture.
- Assess supplier capabilities, industrial risks and capacity constraints.
- Define the future operating model for the category.
- Establish governance, decision-making processes and stakeholder interfaces.
- Design KPIs, performance measurement frameworks and management routines.
- Strengthen collaboration between Procurement, Operations, Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain functions.
- Contribute to building scalable procurement capabilities for contract manufacturing activities.
- Develop risk mitigation and business continuity strategies.
- Define dual-sourcing and supplier capacity management approaches.
- Support forecasting and demand-planning considerations for outsourced manufacturing activities.
- Improve supply chain agility and resilience across the supplier network.
- Contribute to achieving operational excellence within a Purchase-to-Order environment.
- Act as a trusted advisor to strategic sourcing and category management teams.
- Transfer methodologies, tools and best practices related to contract manufacturing.
- Coach procurement stakeholders in strategic decision-making and category management.
- Support capability development and procurement maturity enhancement.
- Contribute to defining the future Category Leader role.
- Participate in candidate assessment and technical interviews.
- Provide recommendations regarding organizational design and leadership requirements.
- Build executive-ready business cases and presentations.
- Develop transformation roadmaps and implementation plans.
- Ensure alignment between sourcing strategy, industrial operations and business objectives.
- Support senior leadership in decision-making throughout the engagement.
- Master's degree in Engineering, Industrial Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement or a related discipline.
- Engineering background combined with Procurement or Supply Chain expertise is highly preferred.
- Minimum 10–15 years of experience in industrial procurement, strategic sourcing or supply chain leadership roles.
- Strong experience within manufacturing, industrial equipment, automation, machinery or similar industrial environments.
- Proven track record in Contract Manufacturing and Industrial Outsourcing.
- Experience designing and implementing Procurement Target Operating Models.
- Demonstrated success in procurement transformation and organizational change initiatives.
- Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders including Operations, Product Lines, Engineering, Quality and Supply Chain.
- Exposure to industrial footprint optimization, outsourcing strategies and supplier relocation programs.
- Experience supporting or mentoring procurement and category management teams.
Deep understanding of:
