As a USP Biotechnologist Manager
, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient execution of upstream manufacturing operations.
Combining strong mammalian cell culture expertise with leadership and operational awareness
, you will support Production Leaders and teams in day-to-day operations while acting as a technical reference for troubleshooting, process improvement, and manufacturing excellence.
You will work at the interface of Manufacturing, MSAT, Quality, and other functions
, helping teams solve complex challenges, implement new ideas, and continuously improve how we manufacture life-changing therapies.
- Support the execution of manufacturing campaigns, ensuring safety, quality, compliance, and delivery objectives are achieved.
- Provide technical expertise in mammalian cell culture
, troubleshooting, and manufacturing problem-solving. - Support the technical readiness and availability of manufacturing suites and equipment.
- Act as a key technical contact for production issues, supporting investigations, escalation, and resolution.
- Partner with Manufacturing, MSAT, and cross-functional teams to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Contribute to technical change implementation, process improvements, innovation projects, and plant-wide standardization.
- Promote best practices and harmonized approaches across manufacturing operations.
- Support Production Leaders, Supervisors, and Specialists in team development and daily operational activities.
- Contribute to onboarding, training, coaching, and employee development initiatives.
- Foster open communication, collaboration, and a strong team culture.
- Help create an environment where people are encouraged to challenge existing ways of working and bring forward new ideas.
- Support risk assessments, workplace inspections, and compliance activities.
- Identify improvement opportunities and contribute to corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure activities remain aligned with GMP, safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory requirements

- Strong professional experience in upstream biopharmaceutical manufacturing
, particularly mammalian cell culture. - Solid knowledge of GMP and regulated manufacturing environments
. - Proven technical and leadership capabilities, with the ability to influence and engage teams at different levels.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a pragmatic and solution-oriented mindset.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Structured, organized, and able to take ownership in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Open-minded and motivated by continuous improvement and innovation.
- Good understanding of business and financial considerations.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, or a related scientific/engineering discipline.
