ADM’s global Nutrition business is represented by Human & Animal Nutrition, and Health & Wellness (Humans, Pets & Animals). The Health & Wellness R&D teams are present in 6 locations (Spain, Ireland, England, Switzerland, USA, and China) and focus on developing cutting‑edge technological and science‑based products.

The successful candidate will report to the Biobank and Microbiome Application Manager and will be based in Lausanne/Switzerland. The candidate will take a key role within the team, working across microbiology, oral and gastrointestinal simulation technologies and in vitro and ex vivo models to accelerate the discovery and development of innovative and science‑based microbiome solutions for pets and livestock animals which will help to differentiate ADM on the Pet and Animal Microbiome markets.

• Development of gut simulation technologies together with the team and execution of gastrointestinal microbiome‑related simulation models.
• Expertise in using gut simulation technologies like SHIME, RUSITEC, INFOGEST, TIMs, among others.
• Experience in BSL‑2 laboratory procedures and a strong commitment to safety.
• Preparation and execution of experimental protocols.
• Data analysis and generation of clear scientific reports of the data obtained.
• Highly valuable statistical knowledges.

• Ph.D. degree in microbiology, molecular biology, strain development, bioengineering or related fields.
• 5+ years of R&D experience in microbiology, molecular biology preferably in large companies.
• Direct experience with microbiology and gastrointestinal simulators in BSL2 lab environment.
• Demonstrates an innovative mindset and a proactive approach to problem‑solving. High‑level scientific mindset.
• Desirable experience in culturing fastidious strict anaerobic microorganisms, pathogens, and yeasts.
• Excellent interpersonal and scientific skills. Ability to work with others in a collaborative environment.
