Research/Development
Research Scientist, Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Mission
We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow with a strong background in cancer biology, genetics, and epigenetics. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of scientific excellence, demonstrated through high-quality publications.
The position is available in the Laboratory of Elisa Oricchio at the Swiss Institute of Experimental Cancer Research ISREC lab is part of the vibrant research community of the Swiss Cancer Center Leman and is located on the EPFL main campus.
Main Duties And ResponsibilitiesIn the Oricchio lab, we investigate the molecular mechanisms that drive tumor initiation and determine responses to therapy. A comprehensive understanding of tumor evolution requires integrating both genetic and non-genetic mechanisms. Thus, our research begins with the functional characterization of cancer-associated genomic alterations to determine how they reshape the structure and function of the epigenome. Over the past years, we have shown that remodeling the chromatin 3D structure is a key driver of tumor development and progression and demonstrated how specific genomic alterations reprogram the crosstalk between cancer cells and immune cells.
Weoffer
The position provides an exciting opportunity to further develop and expand these lines of research, and candidates are also encouraged to apply for individual fellowships to strengthen their CVs and future career prospects. A strong motivation and exceptional level of dedication and work ethic are essential. Prior experience with animal models, 3D culture systems and/or computational analyses will be an advantage.
The salary will be according to EPFL standards.
