Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Foreman to join our high‑growth organization. This role is ideal for a detail‑oriented, driven individual with strong leadership skills who takes pride in their work. The Foreman plays a key role in meeting project deadlines and supporting overall customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities- Lead daily crew huddles to set production goals and expectations
- Lead a crew of craft workers including carpenters, labourers, and equipment operators
- Interpret blueprints and job documents to plan work effectively
- Plan and schedule materials, equipment, and crew activities
- Maintain daily job logs and diaries
- Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and company safety policies
- Lead safety meetings and enforce safe work practices
- Communicate goals clearly and lead by example
- Train and mentor crew members
- Collaborate with the project team to meet milestones and deliver successful projects
- Oversee field quality control and liaise with inspectors, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies
- Coordinate with project owners and ensure compliance with environmental and local requirements
- Identify risks and support mitigation strategies
- Flag out‑of‑scope work and assist with change management
- Uphold company standards for professionalism and customer service
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
- Perform other duties as assigned
- 3+ years of experience in field crew management within civil/highway construction
- Minimum 5 years of construction experience
- Knowledge of OTM Book 7
- Ability to interpret grading templates and cross‑sections
- Experience with GPS surveying and base station setup (asset)
- Experience with highway widening and interchange construction (preferred)
- Knowledge of survey controls and grade checking
- Proficient in reading civil construction drawings
- Experience working in environmentally sensitive areas
- Valid Class G driver’s license
- Willingness to work long hours, weekends, and travel as required
