Day / evening / weekend (as needed)
- Variable schedule of approximately 30 to 40 hours / week
- Fixed schedule of 40 hours / week (Monday to Friday): from late June to mid-August
- Possibility of overtime (in season)
The challenges that await you
As the Recreational Program Manager - Day Camp for the City of Laval, you will be responsible for the implementation and coordination of the summer animation program in your respective area.
You will oversee approximately six camp leaders and about sixty animation staff spread across four sites. You will also be responsible for the safety of the children and staff under your supervision. You will be in contact with the children enrolled in the program as well as their parents or guardians.
You will ensure the management and follow-up of various administrative reports and report any anomalies to your supervisor. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance and verification of work hours and payroll for your staff. Additionally, you will need to perform necessary follow-ups regarding expenses and activities in your area.
You will prepare and lead meetings with the leaders in your area and collaborate with the management team of the day camp office for the smooth execution of the program.
The ideal profile for us
- Have a minimum of 4 years of experience in animation and at least 2 years in a management position;
- Have experience demonstrating a concern for customer/citizen service;
- Have access to a vehicle and possess a valid driver's license;
- Be comfortable working with the Office suite (Outlook, Excel, etc.);
- Have completed training in animation such as DAFA (Diploma of Aptitude for Animator Functions) or equivalent (an asset);
- Have completed recognized first aid training:
Emergency First Aid and CPR- AED (an asset); - Have experience in managing unionized employees (an asset).
If the pool is deemed insufficient, compensatory measures or equivalencies in terms of education or experience may be considered.
