- Variable schedule of approximately 30 to 40 hours/week: from early May to the end of June
- Fixed schedule of 40 hours/week (Monday to Friday): from the end of June to mid-August
- Possibility of overtime (in season)
The challenges that await you
As the Recreational Program Manager - Day Specialized Camps for the City of Laval, you will be responsible for the implementation and coordination of the summer animation program in your respective area.
You will oversee the specialized day camp Campgourou (one site) as well as the integration component deployed within the regular day camps. You will supervise approximately five group leaders and about a hundred employees. You will also be responsible for the safety of the children and staff under your supervision. You will be in contact with the children enrolled in the program as well as their parents or guardians.
You will ensure the management and follow-up of various administrative reports and report any anomalies to your superior. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance and verification of work hours and payroll for your staff. Additionally, you will need to perform necessary follow-ups regarding expenses and activities in your sector.
You will prepare and lead meetings with the leaders in your sector and collaborate with the management team of the day camp office for the smooth execution of the program.
The ideal profile for us
- Have completed four (4) full-time university semesters or sessions in psychology, psychoeducation, or school adaptation OR have completed four (4) full-time college semesters or sessions in special education or a related field in intervention with clients with special needs;
- Have a minimum of 4 years of experience in animation and at least 2 years in a management position;
- Have experience demonstrating a concern for customer/citizen service;
- Have access to a vehicle and possess a valid driver's license;
- Be comfortable working with the Office suite (Outlook, Excel, etc.);
- Have successfully completed an animation training program such as DAFA (Diploma of Aptitude for Animator Functions) or equivalent (an asset);
- Have completed recognized first aid training:
Emergency First Aid and CPR- AED (an asset); - Have experience in managing unionized employees (an asset).
Should the pool be deemed insufficient, compensatory measures or equivalencies in terms of education or experience may be considered.
