The challenges that await you
Under the authority of the manager – partnerships, programs, and specialized services, you will be called upon to collaborate in the implementation of programs and policies related to the products and services offered by the library. You will coordinate the work of employees assigned to these activities. Additionally, you will supervise activities related to documentary research, selection of documentary resources, information services, and inquiries intended for the relevant staff.
More specifically:
- Develops and maintains partnerships, ongoing relationships with other municipal services, other libraries, government agencies, documentation centers, community organizations, institutional or others.
- Assists their superior in the development and implementation of policies and programs in their area of activity.
- Ensures the promotion of the library's products and services.
- Participates in the development and implementation of promotional programs to raise awareness of the products and services offered by the library.
- Participates in meetings, discussions, or gatherings with employees from other divisions to identify issues within their area of expertise and find appropriate solutions.
- Writes and periodically submits to their superior any relevant working documents and/or reports.
- Collaborates on the library's activity programming.
- Coordinates working committees to propose and develop products, services, procedures, and regulations for the library.
The ideal profile for us
- Hold a master's degree in library science and/or information science
- Have two (2) years of experience relevant to the activities described in the summary;
- Possess the ability to identify, reach, and retain different audiences, particularly those distanced from library services;
- Have the ability to develop, maintain an active presence, and foster relationships with groups, organizations, institutions, and community partners;
- Know the Laval community environment (an asset).
