Overview
Insight Global is looking for an Intermediate Electrical Technician to join a high‑tech manufacturing and testing workplace supporting advanced electrical and electronic systems. This individual will be responsible for performing hands‑on testing, calibration, configuration, and light maintenance of flying probe equipment, while supporting production units and complex test benches. The ideal candidate is comfortable working from written instructions, collaborating with engineers and senior technicians, and contributing to testing activities within controlled lab environments.
This role requires strong technical fundamentals, attention to detail, and the ability to document and analyze test results accurately.
- DEC or equivalent diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Electromechanical, or Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field
- 2–5 years of relevant hands‑on technician experience in an electrical or electronics testing environment
- Experience performing testing, calibration, functional verification, and basic troubleshooting of electronic equipment
- Ability to configure, calibrate, and support testing activities using test benches or automated test equipment
- Experience recording test data, documenting results, and updating technical documentation or procedures
- Comfort working in lab environments, including interaction with thermal or vacuum chambers
- Ability to follow formal procedures, safety rules, and quality standards
- Fluency in spoken and written French or willingness to learn
- Eligibility and willingness to obtain and maintain Reliability/Level II (Secret) security clearance and Controlled Goods Program (CGP) clearance
- Experience working with Flying Probe equipment or automated PCB test systems
- Ability to generate test programs from CAD data, bills of material, and schematics
- Experience using PLM, ERP, or electronic document management systems
- Exposure to aerospace, electronics manufacturing, or mission‑critical hardware environments
- Working knowledge of English for collaboration with teams or stakeholders outside Québec
- Experience performing minor equipment repairs and preventive maintenance
