We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Liaison Engineering Specialist to join our team at Fleet Canada Inc. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in aerospace engineering principles, non-conformance evaluation, and cross-functional technical support, with the ability to work within customer and regulatory requirements to ensure compliant and efficient product disposition.

Job Summary:

As a Liaison Engineering Specialist, you will be responsible for evaluating and dispositioning non-conforming product, supporting MRB activities, providing technical guidance to production and inspection teams, and assisting with the development of special process and personnel certification programs. This role requires a proactive and technically skilled individual who can apply sound engineering judgment, interpret complex specifications, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and analyze Discrepant Material Reports (DMRs) and determine appropriate dispositions, including repair, rework, use-as-is, or scrap, in accordance with engineering principles, product specifications, process requirements, and delegated authority limits.
  • Participate in MRB activities by presenting technical evaluations and recommendations and collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve non-conformance issues.
  • Prepare DMRs and proposed repairs for customer submission where required.
  • Support the pursuit and responsible use of customer-delegated repair authority.
  • Provide technical guidance to production and inspection teams on disposition instructions and interpretation of engineering requirements.
  • Identify equipment, process, and personnel certification requirements based on customer and regulatory expectations.
  • Develop and maintain in-house training content for certification programs required by customers or regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure training materials meet applicable specifications and compliance standards.
  • Support certification-related programs such as Rockwell hardness and conductivity inspections, clad checks on scratched aluminum details, copper-sulfate testing of passivated stainless parts, and surface preparation for electrical bonding.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce non-conformance rates, improve disposition turnaround times, and increase process efficiency.
  • Participate in Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support capital investment opportunities and participate in Cap Ex projects through completion.
  • Assist with audits, supplier technical reviews, and engineering change implementation.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications/

Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and extensive aerospace quality experience may be considered in lieu of formal academic qualifications.
  • Strong understanding of aerospace engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
