About the OpportunityWe are a leading Canadian financial services co‑operative committed to creating a sustainable and resilient society. As part of our P&C insurance solutions team, the Actuarial Insights Consultant will lead initiatives that monitor the performance of our portfolios and deliver actionable insights that contribute to the health of our portfolios. You will use advanced analytical and actuarial models to scrutinize results, proactively identify trends, and forecast the impact on our organization.
Responsibilities- Develop monitoring for our portfolios, analyze results, identify trends, and deliver actionable insights.
- Collaborate with business partners to support profitability analysis, communicate key insights and findings, and influence action based on those findings.
- Actively seek emerging techniques and methodologies to develop innovative solutions to complex problems through analysis and application of new concepts.
- Leverage predictive and prescriptive analytics to understand and forecast the impact of initiatives and identify profitability concerns.
- Lead and execute medium to large‑sized projects by defining a project plan, coaching team members on technical and modeling topics, and promoting team involvement and efficiency.
- Possess an innovative mindset to improve operational efficiencies and influence change, with a primary focus on client needs.
- Use critical‑thinking skills to recognize assumptions, evaluate arguments, draw conclusions, and proactively propose solutions.
- Have strong communication skills to clearly convey messages and explore diverse points of view.
- Build trusting relationships and provide guidance to support colleague development.
- Completed a post‑secondary degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, or a related discipline.
- Four (4) years of experience in the Property and Casualty field.
- Advanced knowledge of modeling processes, modeling software, and advanced actuarial concepts.
- Having or working toward the ACAS or FCAS designations is an asset.
- Primarily works with majority non‑francophone groups, teams located outside of Québec, and requires proficiency in English. Non‑French duties are not assignable to adjacent or other team members.
