Become a critical part of the Planning, Building & Development Services as a Zoning Examiner, where you will analyze development permits and ensure compliance with municipal legislation. Work with complex zoning issues that shape our community's growth.
As a full-time Zoning Examiner, you will be responsible for reviewing applications under the direction of the Manager of Policy and Heritage Planning.
Your role will involve providing zoning interpretations, issuing necessary statements, and preparing insightful reports based on your analyses. Strong attention to detail is crucial as you manage multiple priority cases.
Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze building permits for zoning compliance
• Provide zoning interpretations and verification statements
• Assist in preparing analytical reports
• Conduct data collection and review site plans
• Work collaboratively with planning staff and stakeholders
Requirements:
• Post-secondary degree in Planning, Geography, or related field
• At least one year of zoning compliance experience
• Knowledge of the Planning Act and associated legislation
• Familiarity with GIS systems and Microsoft Office
• Excellent analytical and written communication skills
