Salary: $94,757.21 based on 35 hours per week ($52.06 – Step 1 of 5, or DOE)

Ta’an Kwäch’än Council is seeking a dynamic and service orientated Assistant Wellness Manager to complement the Wellness Department. The department ensures that services and support to TKC Citizens in the areas of health, family support, home care, and income support are maintained with the high level of responsiveness and effectiveness that the clients may require. Complementing and enriching these services is the overall goal of general wellness and the integration of TKC cultural history, values, and programming.

The Assistant Wellness Manager, supports the Wellness Manager in planning, organizing, and overseeing health and wellness programs, projects, and initiatives for TKC Citizens. This role ensures that health services—including community health care, family support, children and youth programming, and counseling services—are delivered effectively and in alignment with TKC cultural values. The Assistant Manager will work closely with the Wellness Manager to implement departmental plans, budgets, and strategic initiatives, while also supporting the day-to-day operations of the Wellness Department.

Duties:
  • Assist the Wellness Manager in the planning and implementation of wellness programs and initiatives.
  • Provide administrative and operational support for community health care, family support, home care, and income support services.
  • Support the preparation and updates of annual work plans, training plans, and project management plans.
  • Assist in managing the departmental budget, including financial forecasting, tracking expenditures, and preparing financial reports.
  • Participate in funding applications and proposal writing to support health and wellness programs.
  • Assist the Wellness Manager with providing supervision and guidance to Health & Wellness Coordinator, Income Support Worker, Family Support Worker, Trauma Informed Health Worker, including supporting their professional development.
  • Knowledge of multi-cultural beliefs, values and perspectives of First Nations Citizens with particular emphasis on TKC citizenship.
  • Cultural awareness, and capability of fostering positive relationships with staff, leadership, and community members.
  • Knowledge of community services and resources and the extent to which these resources and services support the citizens of Ta’an Kwäch’än Council.
  • Ability to access appropriate community resources in response to client needs.
  • Ability to recognize and value cultural and socio-economic differences in supervising/executing case management plans with the Client/Citizen.
Required Qualifications (what we look for on your resume):

Education & Experience:

  • Degree or diploma in social work, health, administration, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Experience in program coordination, budgeting, and staff supervision within a health or wellness setting.
  • Familiarity with First Nations health programs, traditional healing practices, and community dynamics.
  • Knowledge of funding applications, contribution agreements, and reporting requirements.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills.
  • Budget management and financial planning abilities.
  • Strong supervisory skills
  • Competency in using office software (email, word processing, spreadsheets, databases).
Required knowledge and skills (what we will assess):
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Conditions of employment:

an acceptable criminal records check- vulnerable sector, valid class 5 Driver’s License & Drivers Abstract.
