Continuing Care Assistant in Training; CCAIT

Job Description

Continuing Care Assistant in Training (CCAITs) – Immediate Start Available. We are urgently hiring CCAITs in Kentville/Windsor (Valley), Bridgewater/Lunenberg, Middle Musquodoboit. You will provide compassionate care in these communities.

• Provide personal care (bathing, grooming, dressing)
• Travel between client homes
• Assist with meals and light housekeeping
• Support daily living activities
• Offer companionship and emotional support

• At least 1 year of experience in providing personal care
• Plan to successfully complete CCA exam in 4 months
• Nursing background or extensive PSW experience will also be considered
• Experience with elderly populations is preferred
• A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is strongly preferred as travel to patient residences is required
• Ability to effectively communicate both through oral and written mediums
• Able to provide a current criminal check with clear Vulnerable Position Screening (VPS) if selected
• Ability to demonstrate compassion, tact and diplomacy when interacting with residents/patients and their families
