    Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.

    About the role

    We’re looking for a Manager, Security - Detection Engineering, to join our growing team!

    What you'll do here:

  • Manage a team of individual contributors for detection engineering within the Cyberdefense team.

  • Ensure optimal use of resources and evolve processes and organizational structures as needed.

  • Oversee your team’s activities by organizing, planning, and maximizing the use of human, financial, and material resources in line with company strategy and budget planning (leverage Intact contextual knowledge to make the right choices and manage dependencies and competing priorities).

  • Own key risk indicators: communicate them to the team, apply them, and contribute to their evolution.

  • Effectively measure performance and risk and communicate results skillfully.

  • Develop or update standards and processes related to detection engineering.

  • Regularly prepare and present formal status updates to senior leadership.

  • Define and lead initiatives autonomously by mobilizing the necessary teams and expertise.

  • Stay vigilant about evolving threats and industry cybersecurity solutions and services to ensure ongoing protection against emerging risks.

  • Ensure compliance with Intact policies and standards for logging and monitoring.

  • What you bring to the table:

  • Advanced studies in a cybersecurity-related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 10+ years of experience in security operations.

  • 5+ years leading a cybersecurity team.

  • A curious, bold, empathetic, and strategic mindset.

  • Strong initiative: proven ability and experience leading projects and initiatives autonomously.

  • Experience in architecture and with Azure or Crowd Strike environments.

  • Demonstrated ability to ensure end-to-end awareness of the team’s workflows, priorities, and progress.

  • Ability to manage risk through quantified data.

  • Strong political savviness.

  • Strong collaboration skills. A relationship-oriented approach with business partners to foster collaboration withing the team and with broader Intact teams.

  • Ability to negotiate and influence.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Coaching and mentoring skills.

  • Bilingualism (French and English) is required:
    Need to interact on a regular basis with colleagues across the country.

  • No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada.
