This is a full-time, permanent position within a collaborative and dynamic team.

The role is primarily based in Laval, with occasional travel to Saint-Sauveur and Gatineau.

Job Description

Reporting to the Information Technology Director, the IT Technician is responsible for:

  • Providing Level 1 and 2 technical support to users (diagnosis, resolution, follow-up, and escalation)
  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining servers, network equipment, and firewalls
  • Managing the IT infrastructure (workstations, printers, peripherals)
  • Maintaining up-to-date technical documentation and procedures
  • Collaborating with the IT team on critical incidents and improvement projects
  • Contributing to the stability of operations in the clinics, operating room, and laboratory

This key role requires a proactive approach, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to to effectively resolve technical issues.

Requirements

Education and Experience
  • DEC in Computer Science, Networking, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in technical support or systems/network administration
  • Certifications (an asset)
Technical Skills
  • Proficient in Windows and Linux environments
  • Solid knowledge of networking (routers, switches, firewalls)
  • Experience in Level 1 and 2 technical support
  • Ability to effectively diagnose and resolve incidents
Tools and Technologies
  • Monitoring:
    Nagios, Prometheus, Connect Wise
  • Configuration:
    Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Terraform
  • Systems: RDP, SSH
  • Virtualization: VMware, Docker
  • Databases:
    MySQL, MongoDB
  • Scripting:
    Power Shell, CMD
  • Backup:
    Veeam, Acronis
  • Collaboration:

    Teams, Slack, Jira, Planner
Specific Technical Skills
  • Network cabling (Ethernet, RJ45) compliant with standards
  • Use of cabling testing tools
  • Installation and maintenance of network infrastructures
