Hello! My name is Angela, and I am a Recruitment Consultant at Fed Supply, a specialized recruitment agency focused on supply chain, logistics, transportation, and customer service. We recruit for both temporary and permanent positions throughout the Greater Montreal Area.
MissionReporting to the Distribution & Shipping Manager, the Import / Export Coordinator is responsible for ensuring compliance with international shipping regulations and serves as the main point of contact for customs-related activities and export documentation. This position is based in a manufacturing environment within the aerospace industry, where shipments are primarily destined for the United States.
Key Responsibilities Customs & Trade Compliance- Prepare all required documentation for international shipments (Bills of Lading, packing lists, certificates, and other export documents).
- Ensure shipments comply with customs regulations and international trade requirements.
- Complete export declarations, manage required permits, and validate HS Codes and Incoterms.
- Serve as the primary contact for customs brokers, carriers, and government authorities.
- Stay up to date on applicable import/export regulations and trade compliance requirements.
- Coordinate international shipments with internal teams and logistics partners.
- Manage priorities, urgent requests, and delivery-related issues, particularly during month-end peak periods.
- Support the shipping team and provide backup coverage during employee absences.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement and compliance of shipping procedures.
- Process shipping invoices, credit notes, and ensure inventory transactions are accurately recorded.
- Maintain records and documentation related to import and export activities.
- 1-3 years of experience in import/export, international logistics, or transportation.
- Experience with exports to the United States and customs documentation.
- Manufacturing experience is considered an asset.
- Good knowledge of Canadian export regulations, U.S. customs requirements, Incoterms, and HS Codes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong computer skills.
- Strong organizational skills, autonomy, and a proactive approach.
- Ability to manage priorities, urgent requests, and fluctuating workloads.
- Team-oriented with solid problem-solving skills.
- Bilingual in French and English, with the ability to communicate effectively with logistics partners, customs brokers, and international government authorities.
- Permanent, full-time position (39 hours per week).
- Day shift, Monday to Friday.
- 100% on-site position.
- Salary: $60,000 to $70,000, based on experience.
