About the Role

Yaldei is seeking an organized, proactive, and resourceful Events Manager to lead the planning and execution of the organization’s fundraising and community events – including the annual on-line campaign and annual bike-a-thon, and for expanding the organization’s fundraising efforts through the creation of new revenue-generating events.

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Events Manager oversees all aspects of the event planning and execution, and is accountable for helping to set, and meeting the related fundraising goals.

The only one of its kind in Quebec, Yaldei is a not-for-profit developmental centre and school devoted to helping children reach their full potential. Yaldei is comprised of a multi-disciplinary team of experienced therapists and educators dedicated to early intervention treatment, individualized therapies and special education programs for children from birth to 21 years.

Our integration of advanced clinical, behavioral, educational and family support services provides children with the opportunity to learn how to walk, talk, play, attend school and lead productive lives as part of their community.

Primary Responsibilities

Event Management

  • Lead the planning and delivery of the annual bike-a-thon.
  • Lead the planning and delivery of the secular and non-Hasidic portion of the annual on-line campaign, and oversee the work being done on the Hasidic-focused side.
  • Develop new revenue-generating events and engagement opportunities leading to an increase in fundraising event revenues and event engagement opportunities for donors.
  • Develop and manage all event timelines, budgets, registrations and logistics to ensure the successful execution of each event.
  • Be responsible for all day-of event management and ensure events run smoothly.
  • Recruit, onboard, and support volunteers across all areas of event execution, including promotion, setup, and program delivery.
  • Ensure events reflect Yaldei’s mission, values, and brand standards.
  • Lead post-event debrief, and institute structured internal evaluation systems to improve attendee experience and financial results year-over-year.

Revenue Generation & Financial Administration

  • Work with the Executive Director to establish event budgets and revenue targets for each event.
  • Manage event budgets, ensuring to meet or exceed targets.
  • Identify and secure sponsor ships, auction items, ticket sales, and other revenue generating opportunities.
  • Develop new and creative fundraising methods to be integrated into events to encourage engagement and giving.
  • Prepare post-event financial reports and apply findings to enhance future event success.
  • Work with the Administrative Assistant to ensure post-event administrative duties are completed successfully.

Marketing & Outreach

  • Work collaboratively with the organization’s marketing professional to develop communications strategies around event promotion, ticket sales, event visibility, and the creation of press releases and media kits.
  • Identify opportunities to build relationships with local businesses, community partners, schools, and volunteers in support of long-term event growth and sustainability.
  • Liaise with media and/or special guests before, during and after events, as needed.

Core Professional Competencies

  • Proven track-record of producing successful fund-generating events, event experience in a nonprofit setting is an asset.
  • Experience overseeing event operations, logistics, and onsite execution.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with solid administrative and budgeting abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently.
  • Comfortable coordinating a variety of stakeholders, including staff, volunteers, and external partners.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in required software, including MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc.), and experience with data management software and/or other customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
  • High level of English proficiency, and ability to communicate professionally in French.
