Shape produce buying through supplier negotiation, merchandise analysis, and accurate stock planning in an on-site wholesale or retail setting.
This Produce Buyer role requires three to less than five years of experience and an other trades certificate or diploma. You will select merchandise, maintain supplier relationships, and supervise three to four buyers. The position supports a stated green job designation.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess establishment requirements and determine merchandise quantities
- Select and purchase products for resale
- Negotiate supplier prices, discounts, credit, and transportation
- Maintain adequate stock levels and planogram arrangements
- Supervise the work of three to four buyers
- Three to less than five years of experience
- Other trades certificate or diploma
- English language proficiency
- Spreadsheet, Internet, MS Outlook, and MS Word knowledge
- Criminal record check required
