USC is seeking a Substance Use Peer Specialist in Los Angeles to provide critical support and advocacy for individuals facing substance challenges. This role directly contributes to the well-being of the community's most vulnerable members.
As a Substance Use Peer Specialist with USC, you'll be integral to a multidisciplinary team dedicated to outreach and care in Mac Arthur Park. This full-time, community-focused position emphasizes a patient-centered approach and harm reduction strategies, with responsibilities spanning both fieldwork and care coordination to enhance recovery outcomes for patients.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide engaging support and case management
• Conduct substance-use assessments and brief interventions
• Educate on topics such as relapse and overdose prevention
• Follow up with patients in diverse settings
• Navigate treatment options and coordinate care effectively
Requirements:
• 1 year of experience in a related role
• Familiarity with resources for unsheltered populations
• Strong communication skills and organizational prowess
• High level of integrity and confidentiality
• Team-oriented approach with sound decision-making
