The Clerk's Office plays a central role in supporting decision-making bodies, ensuring compliance with municipal processes, and protecting information. To support the evolution of these strategic functions, the City of Laval is seeking a mobilizing leader.
The challenges that await youReporting to the Director and Clerk, you actively participate in the planning, organization, and evolution of the service's activities while managing the teams under your responsibility.
As Deputy Clerk, you play a strategic role with municipal bodies and ensure the rigor of the legal, administrative, and democratic processes that frame municipal activities. You assist the Director and Clerk in all clerk functions and replace them as needed at the City Council and Executive Committee.
You also provide leadership in critical areas related to access to information, protection of personal data, document management, and the evolution and modernization of clerk practices.
In a context marked by evolving regulatory requirements, modernization of governance practices, and maintaining quality service delivery, you are called to play a decisive role in achieving the objectives of the Clerk's Office.
In this context, your main mandates consist of:
- Ensuring leadership of clerk activities in line with the City's strategic directions;
- Acting as Deputy Clerk and supporting decision-making bodies in exercising their responsibilities;
- Ensuring compliance with municipal processes, particularly in regulatory, governance, and legal obligation management;
- Ensuring governance of access to information and protection of personal data from a compliance and risk management perspective;
- Mobilizing teams and leading optimization initiatives aimed at efficiency, service quality, and the evolution of clerk practices.
- Hold a bachelor's degree in law;
- Be a member in good standing of the Barreau du Québec or the Chambre des notaires;
- Have a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience including solid management experience;
