Wind Borne Systems is seeking an innovative Firmware Engineer to advance our unique smart weather balloon technology. Engage with both hardware and software to tackle exciting challenges.
In this engaging role, you will integrate sensors and control mechanisms into our autonomous balloons at Wind Borne Systems. Your responsibilities will include developing low-level drivers and maintaining our custom open-source RTOS. You'll work closely with R&D to push the limits of our technology, ensuring our systems can operate under extreme conditions while maintaining high accuracy in meteorological measurements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create and refine drivers for new chips and sensors
• Own and enhance the Amslah RTOS hardware layer
• Ensure sensor hardware survives extreme cold
• Collaborate on novel hardware R&D for measurement improvement
• Design fault-tolerant systems for unexpected conditions
Requirements:
• Experience programming hardware in real-world scenarios
• Fluent in C/C++ and Python
• Skilled in low-level driver writing and PCB work
• Capable of running and analyzing system experiments
• Excellent debugging abilities in complex environments
