Job Description:

Reporting to the School Principal, this position is responsible for the school bus operation to
ensure the safe and on-time delivery of students to and from their schools and land-based
learning camps, as well as to and from other KTCEA sanctioned extra-curricular events and
activities.

Qualifications:

• Possession of a valid Class 1 or Class 2 License and “S” endorsement
  • Bus Driver Training Provided
• Minimum one (1) year of bus driving or one (1) year of experience driving a Class 1 vehicle
• Completion of a Defensive Driving Program
• Ability to operate vehicles in a safe and efficient manner
• Fluency in Cree an asset
• Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of First Nations culture, organizations and
  communities
• Ability to perform basic mechanical checks to ensure vehicles are in a safe operating
  condition and properly maintained
• Good interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to deal with KTCEA staff, students and parents in a respectful manner
• Ability to deal with disruptive passengers and address conflicts between students riding
  on his/her vehicle
• Ability to use computer software as required by the role
• First Aid, CPR and WHMIS certification
