JOB TITLE:

MHE OperatorSUMMARY

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor the Material Handler is responsible for a variety of warehouse tasks using an RF and various material handling equipment. Follows best practice processes to ensure we are efficient, accurate, and provide quality and on-time orders for our customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • The material handler plays an important role in meeting customer agreements which include productivity, accuracy, and service level.
  • Responsible for the handling of product for various operational processes, including receiving, order picking, shipping, and inventory control.
  • This role requires the use of material handling equipment and RF technology.
  • Follows Standard Operating Procedures to ensure quality and consistency is achieved.
  • Completes material handling tasks as presented on the RF, scanning where possible to avoid manual keying.
  • Participates in inventory activities including physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
  • Moves empty pallets, depositing them at the designated pallet holding location.
  • Keeps the warehouse clean, orderly, and free from obstructions, with all debris placed in proper containers or designated areas.
  • Operates equipment and completes tasks in a manner consistent with company Health & Safety policies.
  • Demonstrates respect forthe organization’s values, while maintaining and upholding company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE
  • Two (2) years warehouse experience, with one year’s operating material handling equipment (MHE) with a proven track record for safety.
  • Previous experience with RF based Warehouse Management System (WMS), preferably Red Prairie.
COMPETENCIES SKILLS
  • Knowledge of warehouse processes, including receiving, order picking, shipping, and inventory control.
  • Organized and strong attention to detail.
  • Able to adapt to change and easily adopt new processes required to meet changing business needs.
  • Able to work in a structured environment and follow instructions.
  • Knowledge of WMS RF Scanner.
  • Experience with Red Prairie WMS an asset.

EDUCATION
  • Some high school, completion of secondary school diploma preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS
  • One or a combination of the following equipment experience and certification - Raymond Reach, Dock Stocker, Counterbalance and/or Walkie. (MHE is site specific)
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Able to commit to a flexible work schedule, including overtime and weekends when required.
