SUBSTITUTE - ON CALL
POSITION: Para educator TYPE: On call as needed. These positions work Monday-Friday. COMPENSATION: Range 28;
Schedule M;
Step 1: $20.71 Hourly TYPE OF RECRUITMENT: This is anOPEN recruitment to establish a list of substitutes
for the classification of Para educator.
No effort will be made to maintain a rank order of the applicants (P.C. Rule 60.100.5).
TESTING PROCEDURE: The examination process will consist of a written examination.
Applicants will be notified via email regarding their status. Those selected to participate in the testing process will receive additional details, including the date and location of the exam, once the schedule is finalized.
DESCRIPTION: Under the direction of an administrator and general direction of a classroom teacher and specialist, assist in the instructional support, behavioral support, personal care, and supervision of students with a wide range of disabilities. Provide intensive individualized services; participate in behavioral modification and management of students; assist students with and demonstrate proper physical care and hygienic needs; provide support with classroom organization, management, and safety.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent. Passing the Para educator Competency Examination.
Experience:
One (1) year of experience working with special needs students.
