Applicants must hold a current and valid California Education Specialist Instruction Teaching Credential - Visual Impairments. A master’s degree is preferred. This is an itinerant position working with the Southwest Special Education Local Plan Area (SW SELPA).
Minimum Requirements- Valid California Education Specialist Instruction Teaching Credential - Visual Impairments & English Language Learner Authorization (e.g., CLAD, BCLAD, ELA

- Transcripts (Conferral of Bachelor's degree)
- Valid Driver’s License
- 3 letters of recommendation (dated within the last 12 months, no supervisor required)
- CBEST Test Results or equivalent
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of the Common Core State Standards, SJUSD curriculum and SJUSD policies
- Knowledge of IDEA federal regulations
- Ability to organize curriculum to facilitate student understanding of subject matter
- Ability to infuse technology and other 21st Century Skills (critical thinking, problem solving, creative thinking, communication, collaboration and global citizenship) into the curriculum
- Ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, central office and school-based staff, students, parents and community
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
