MSO FIELD TECHNOLOGIST – CONTROL SYSTEMS TECH
Summary: The MSO Field Technologist – Control Systems Techs ensure process equipment for water and wastewater plants, and associated facilities are functioning properly including maintaining communication, monitoring and control via the plant SCADA system.
Responsibilities- Control Systems Techs troubleshoot, configure and repair field devices.
- Install and maintain communication and networking systems necessary for integration of remote processors.
- Work with operations and maintenance in diagnosing issues related to plant processes and motor control centers.
- Read, write and troubleshoot PLCs and automation control ladder logic.
- Administer and configure SCADA system and associated hardware.
- Install and maintain various security monitoring and access systems.
- Conduct project-based work to design and implement improvements throughout the facilities.
- Hold on-call to respond to emergencies.
- HS diploma/GED required, supplemented with training in chemistry, biology, maintenance, electrical, mechanical, process automation, treatment operations, engineering, technology or a related field.
- At least two years of technical or scientific experience preferred and/or a minimum of one year experience directly related to instrumentation/controls systems and/or operations of treatment plants.
- Must obtain KDHE Class IV water or wastewater operator certification, ABC Class III Maintenance certification or ISA CST certification within 24 months.
- Must possess a valid Kansas driver’s license.
- Background check, post-offer City physical and drug screen required.
