As a facilities electrical engineer, you will work on projects that enable the heart of our client’s semiconductor‑based manufacturing. You and other team members will work closely with client owners in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment. In this role you will collaborate with on‑site personnel to support projects of varying size and complexity, including assessment of systems, consulting system owners, and analyzing scope requests from stakeholders.
Qualificationsand Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar from an ABET accredited university
- At least 10 years of experience in engineering design of building electrical systems, including distribution to end‑use
- Solid knowledge and application of the electrical requirements per NFPA 70, 70E, 72, 101, 110, building codes, energy codes, and related standards such as IEEE and ASHRAE
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multidisciplinary teams
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and leadership experience
- Solid knowledge in practice and procedures for specifications and selection of all types of electrical equipment and hardware
- Working knowledge of PLC, DCS, and other controls applications
- Experience reviewing vendor submittal packages against client requirements and specifications
- Field experience interacting with subcontractors and construction personnel
- EIT or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure
- 5 years of experience as a facility engineer
- Working knowledge of Instrumentation & Controls design‑related deliverables such as P&IDs, I/O lists, wiring diagrams, control narratives, etc.
- Experience with control panel design, including UL‑508A requirements
- Proficient working knowledge of electrical modeling software, such as SKM Power Tools (PTW), ETAP, Easy Power
- Proficient working knowledge of design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit or BIM 360
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas
- Passionate about buildings and construction
- This is an on‑site position requiring work to be performed on the client site in Wilton, CT.
- Candidate must be willing to commute to the site Monday‑Friday during normal business hours – nominally 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with some flexibility based on site needs and employee preference.
- Position requires field visits and walks at an active client site in various stages of construction. Applicant must be able to walk long distances, sit and stand for extended periods, bend, stoop, twist, crawl, climb ladders, work on catwalks, work in small spaces, and lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
- Applicant must complete a background check, drug screen, and be fully authorized to work for any client in the United States. Jacobs will not sponsor or continue a visa for this position.
