PRN Pharmacist

As a PRN Pharmacist at Tarrytown Expocare Pharmacy, you will work on an ad‑hoc basis performing standard pharmacist duties in a closed‑door setting. You will be responsible for providing coverage in times of high demand or when regular pharmacists are on paid leave.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Manages the workflow processes which may include pharmacist verification and labeling/packaging.
• Reviews medication orders and evaluates their appropriateness and completeness.
• Complies with federal and local pharmacy laws as regulated by the State Boards of Pharmacy, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Food and Drug Administration.
• Performs all job duties with a friendly, positive, and team‑oriented approach.
• Maintains required licenses or certifications in good standing.
• Complies with all company policies, procedures, rules, and standards.
• All other duties as assigned by the Pharmacist‑in‑Charge.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Minimum one year experience in a retail or long‑term care pharmacy; 3+ years preferred.
• Must possess a KS State Board of Pharmacy Pharmacist License.
• Must be Immunization Certified.
• Order Entry experience is required.
• Minimal typing speed of 40
  
  WPM preferred.
• Medical Records experience preferred.
• Experience with Framework
  
  LTC preferred, not required.
• Positive personality who can work well within a team.
• Ability to function well in a high‑paced and at times stressful environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Can de‑escalate and troubleshoot problems within the pharmacy.
