** Location Description*
* The Lawrence, Kansas facility is 236,000 square feet and home to about 155 hard working team members who are proud to produce iconic pet food brands like Kibbles 'n Bits®. Lawrence is a college town and the home to both the University of Kansas and Haskell Indian Nations University with Kansas State University about 85 miles away. The city is known for a thriving music and art scene and is also the home of the University of Kansas athletic teams.

** Responsibilities*
* ** Weekend Maintenance Mechanic*
* Starting rate:  **$35.71 per hour*
* The schedule for the Weekend Maintenance Mechanic will be:

+ Saturday - Monday with alternating Fridays

+ 12-hour shifts, 6pm - 6am

+ Shift premium: $1.50 per hour

** Responsibilities*
* In the Maintenance Mechanic role, you will:

+ Maintain and repair all plant equipment and facilities in a way that achieves customer satisfaction in support of the manufacturing of Kibbles 'n Bits

+ Review work orders to ensure materials are available and develop manpower and scheduling estimates.  Initiate work orders when work cannot be performed immediately

+ Perform preventative maintenance and inspection functions and take the initiative to ensure these programs are modified and updated as needed

+ Maintain a clean, sanitary and orderly work area to ensure employee and food safety

** Qualifications*
* The successful candidate (s) for this role will have the following qualifications:

+ Possess a high school diploma or a GED

+ Strong mechanical aptitude combined with good diagnostic skills

+ Experience maintaining and repairing manufacturing equipment and facilities

+ A proven track record of consistent performance delivering safety and quality

+ Capability to work well in a team environment and be willing to help solve problems and implement solutions

+ Ability to comply with a strict attendance policy

+ Desire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

+ Ability and willingness to communicate with cross functional teams

+ Experience in food manufacturing preferred

Expectations:

+ Able to operate, perform basic physical activities: climbing, standing, bending, twisting, and moving around stairs, ladders, platforms and various equipment

+ Able to lift objects up to 60 pounds frequently

+ Must be able to effectively read, comprehend, interpret, record, and apply information from documents

+ Qualified candidates may be required to complete an assessment
