Job Description- Ensure compliance with all environmental, health & safety regulations.
- Lead by example, following all critical safety behavior rules while encouraging others to work safely.
- Oversee special projects.
- Report to the Thermoform Supervisor or Manager, and in their absence, report to the Thermoform Engineering Manager or Plant Manager on shift production status.
- Aid the Quality Assurance department with problem areas.
- Help orient new employees and ensure proper training and training checklists.
- Aid in testing the capability of new and advanced resins.
- Prioritize machine problems and complete daily efficiency reports.
- Perform any other duties established by the Thermoform Supervisor/Manager.
- Oversee the duties of the production floor and coordinate activities of the processing floor.
- Monitor direct labor costs, check timecards for payroll verification, and ensure sample documentation is complete and accurate.
- Ensure new hires receive proper training and training checklists.
Physical Requirements
- High School diploma/GED equivalent or previous experience.
- Previous extrusion and/or thermoforming experience.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and direct employees.
- Previous experience as an Inspector, Packer, Operator, or Floater.
- Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Adequate verbal communication to use a radio or paging system when contacting coworkers in other areas of the complex.
- Good attendance and the ability to deal with any personnel situations or problems that may arise.
- Physical requirements:
lift 35 lbs frequently and/or up to 100 lbs with assistance; push/pull loads in excess of 75 lbs occasionally; stand/walk for 7 hours of an 8‑hour shift; work extended shifts if needed; climb ladders safely and without assistance; use both hands for effective manipulation of tools; work overhead or in awkward positions; stay in a dusty/smoky environment on an intermittent basis; adequate vision (20/40 or better) and hearing sufficient to recognize warning alarms and horns on forklifts.
