SUD Counselor

The SUD Counselor provides approved treatment services to clients and their families and consultation/training to program staff.

DCCCA Wichita Overview

DCCCA’s comprehensive continuum of substance abuse treatment and outpatient mental health counseling in Wichita offers gender-responsive and family focused services for both men and women. Located in Wichita, one of Kansas’s largest metropolitan areas, DCCCA clients come primarily from Sedgwick County but are accepted from referral sources state‑wide. Substance abuse treatment services include non‑medical detoxification, short‑term intensive and extended‑stay residential programs, intensive outpatient modalities, outpatient counseling and primary healthcare collaboration.

Outpatient counseling for both substance use and mental health needs are facilitated via tele‑health technology or in‑office sessions. DCCCA’s unique gender‑responsive program provides services to women, women with dependent children, and pregnant women. A licensed childcare, parenting, case management and mental health services are integrated into the substance abuse treatment modalities.

Family Preservation Supervisor

The Family Preservation Supervisor is responsible for supervising the Case Manager and Family Support Worker dyads. The Supervisor is responsible for case management best practices, in conjunction with the Director, and oversees the day‑to‑day activities associated with providing case management services.

Therapeutic Family Foster Home Specialist

DCCCA’s Therapeutic Family Foster Home Program manages family foster homes providing 24‑hour care for children and youth with high‑acuity needs. This position provides ongoing support services to Therapeutic Foster Families which includes assisting with children in the home. Under supervision of the TFFH Supervisor and while working closely with other assigned staff, Therapeutic Family Foster Home Specialists will provide intake services and assist with placement recommendations and/or service planning.

The TFFH Specialist will also assist in recruiting and training foster families while also providing emotional support, professional guidance and crisis assistance.

Recovery Support Specialist

Recovery Support Specialists monitor and direct client activity and are responsible for the implementation of agency policies.

Child Welfare Therapist

The Child Welfare Therapist provides for the safety, stability and well‑being of children and families by delivering and coordinating culturally competent therapeutic services that are responsive to the unique needs of each family. The Child Welfare Therapist works with clients to engage in services, complete assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide individual, group and family counseling.

Child Placing Agency Trainer & Coordinator

The Child Placing Agency Trainer provides on‑going training to foster parents and staff. DCCCA has been a licensed Child Placing Agency in the state of Kansas since 2001. CPA staff work with foster parents to assist in providing the best possible services for children and families.

Behavioral Interventionist

The Behavioral Interventionist (BI) works one‑on‑one in the home and/or community with youth who struggle with behavioral management to the degree it threatens the stability of their living situation. The families in this program have varying levels of communication, parenting, organizational, and cleanliness skill sets. The BI works with all families, regardless of skill levels, family dynamics or home conditions.

Family Support Worker

The Family Support Worker provides for the safety, stability and well‑being of children and families during the referral period by delivering culturally competent services to children and families that are responsive to the unique needs of the family.

Community Resource & Engagement Specialist

The Child Placing Agency Community Resource and Engagement Specialist assists Child Placing Agency staff by linking and coordinating foster families and staff with needed community resources, events, and services.
