Position Summary

The Elementary Interventionist is responsible for providing targeted support to students in ELA and/or Math across grade levels, leading data-driven instruction, and contributing to the school's Response to Intervention and Multi-Tiered System of Supports (RTII and MTSS) processes. This role requires a dynamic individual who can analyze student performance data, collaborate with teachers and staff, and implement effective interventions to support student growth.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide daily, small-group intervention sessions in ELA and/or Math for assigned grade level bands (likely 1st/2nd or 3rd/4th, could also include Kindergarten, SPED, ESL).
  • Support classroom teachers in addressing foundational skills gaps through differentiated instruction and targeted interventions.
  • Utilize student data to make informed decisions about instructional groupings, pacing, and the selection of intervention strategies.
  • Monitor and adjust interventions based on student progress, ensuring all students receive appropriate support to reach academic benchmarks.
Data Management & Analysis
  • Lead data meetings with grade level teams every six weeks, analyzing student progress and developing action plans for continued growth.
  • Prepare clear, concise, and informative data presentations for administration and staff, ensuring alignment with school goals and instructional strategies.
  • Ensure all school data (assessment results, intervention progress, etc.) is organized and easily accessible for staff and leadership.
Response to Intervention & Multi‑Tiered Systems of Support
  • Be familiar with and actively participate in the RTII and MTSS processes, ensuring timely identification of students requiring additional support.
  • Coordinate and/or lead grade‑level RTII team meetings to discuss student progress, next steps, and adjustments to interventions.
  • Accurately enter RTII data into Frontline and maintain up‑to‑date records of student interventions and outcomes.
  • Meet deadlines related to RTII processes, ensuring timely submission of required documentation and progress reports.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Collaborate effectively with classroom teachers, staff, and administration to support student success and maintain a positive learning environment.
  • Act as a team player by being flexible and willing to assist with other school needs as they arise (e.g., school events, lunch duty, or other duties as assigned).
  • Maintain punctuality and reliability to ensure consistent support for students and staff.
  • Work toward meeting a 97% staff attendance goal to model positive attendance habits for students and peers.
  • Be willing to serve on additional committees as needed to support the school's mission and goals.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Certification Required
  • Strong understanding of ELA/Math content, intervention strategies, and assessment tools.
  • Experience with RTII, MTSS, and data‑driven instructional practices.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of school stakeholders.
  • Punctual, dependable, and flexible in meeting the needs of the school community.
Work Environment
  • The Interventionist will primarily work in his/her own class, within classrooms, in small‑group settings, and during school data meetings.
  • Occasional school‑wide events, meetings, and additional responsibilities as requested by administration.

Pay Range
  • Salary in accordance with the Lawrence Teachers' Union Contract ($56,415–$84,063).
