Child & Adolescent Intensive Behavioral Intervention Specialist

Waystone HHS is seeking a dedicated specialist to support children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD), and other behavioral challenges. The role involves coaching families, developing individualized plans, and connecting families to resources.

Position Overview

Provide support to families with children and adolescents in need of intensive behavioral intervention. Empower families, foster community inclusion, and drive behavioral change through evidence-based strategies delivered with compassion and care.

Location

Lawrence, MA. Travel required within Central Middlesex, Merrimack Valley, Lowell, Northshore, Metro North & Northshore for home visits.

Schedule

Monday – Friday with varied hours. Two evenings per week required. Includes office work and documentation.

Compensation

Hourly: $24.75–$28.85. 40‑hour, full‑time, non‑exempt position. Benefitted as of hire date.

Job Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with families to create a personalized Family Support Plan, highlight social, educational, and recreational opportunities, and coordinate insurance‑based referrals.
  • Work with Waystone team members, consultants, and external providers to implement each Family Support Plan.
  • Develop, implement, and collect data on in‑home behavioral plans using ABA and PBS methodology.
  • Partner with the child’s IEP team to strengthen the home‑school connection and support families in applying IEP strategies and accommodations.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Special Education, Child Development, or related field with at least 2 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
  • Alternatively, associate’s degree or high school diploma with 5 years of experience in human services, case management, social work, or related field.
  • Direct experience with intensive case management, ABA, special education services, PBS, trauma‑informed service delivery, and/or behavioral intervention preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of local community services, programs, and resources for children, adolescents, and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorder.
  • Passion for working with diverse families, especially those facing substance use disorder or housing instability.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills focused on positive outcomes.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and virtual platforms.
  • Must be able to read, write, and comprehend English.
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing with at least 1 year of driving experience.
