Position SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented HR Generalist to join our team. This role will support the Human Resources department across multiple functions, with a strong focus on managing unemployment claims, leave of absence reporting, compliance, benefits administration, payroll backup, training, recruiting support, employee recognition programs, company events, and initiatives to improve company culture. The ideal candidate will be bilingual in English and Spanish, have a solid understanding of HR best practices, and demonstrate the ability to work independently while supporting the overall HR strategy.
Key Responsibilities Unemployment Claims Support- Respond to and manage all unemployment claims in a timely and accurate manner.
- Support the HR Manager in preparing paperwork and documentation for hearings (will not attend hearings).
- Prepare and distribute weekly leave of absence reports to management.
- Support employees through the leave process, ensuring compliance with company policy and applicable laws.
- Ensure all required federal and state labor law posters are updated and displayed.
- Assist with HR audits, reporting, and maintaining accurate employee records.
- Support open enrollment, benefits changes, and employee questions.
- Liaise with benefits providers to resolve employee issues.
- Serve as backup to payroll processing as needed.
- Verify timecards and assist with payroll corrections.
- Help with implementation of training modules and programs.
- Maintain accurate training records for all employees.
- Assist in planning and delivering HR training sessions.
- Assist with posting open positions and managing job postings.
- Support recruiting efforts, including candidate communication and interview scheduling.
- Assist with manager recognition programs and company events.
- Maintain employee TV monitors and ensure information is current.
- Contribute to initiatives that improve company culture and employee engagement.
- Assist with onboarding, offboarding, and employee relations.
- Partner with HR leadership on special projects as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of HR experience in a generalist or similar role.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) required.
- Knowledge of HR compliance, labor laws, and best practices.
- Experience with benefits administration, payroll processes, and training management.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Experience with HRIS/payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paylocity, iSolved, or similar).
- Prior experience in manufacturing or a fast‑paced environment a plus.
- Strong problem‑solving and conflict‑resolution abilities.
