Senior Technician - Equipment

Microchip Technology Inc. invites experienced Equipment Technicians to join our wafer fabrication team in Lawrence, MA, where you will help maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot high‑performance manufacturing equipment.

• Perform the installation, modification, upgrade, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues using technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
• Maintain records of equipment manufacturers’ technical notices, upgrades, and safety issues.
• Study equipment performance and reliability.
• Establish programs and solutions to increase uptime and resolve equipment problems that affect the manufacturing process.
• Provide technical support to production operators and process engineering organizations.
• Define and write preventative maintenance schedules.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and cleanroom procedures.

• Technical or military training in Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 6–10 years of relevant equipment maintenance and repair experience, with semiconductor manufacturing equipment preferred.
• Ability to interpret electrical and electronic schematics, mechanical drawings, piping diagrams, and flow charts.
• Experience in component‑level troubleshooting of analog and digital circuits.
• Experience soldering and desoldering components on printed circuit boards.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing cable harnesses.
• Ability to test and evaluate the condition of electrical components such as transistors, diodes, resistors, and capacitors with an analog or digital multimeter.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to equipment safety and performance.

• Ability to lift and move equipment and materials up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in a cleanroom environment, including wearing appropriate cleanroom attire.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.

No travel.

The hourly pay range for this position, which could be performed in Massachusetts, is $24.52 – $53.85. Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills, and experience.
