Manufacturing Engineer, Electronics Technician
Microchip Technology Inc. invites experienced Equipment Technicians to join our wafer fabrication team in Lawrence, MA, where you will help maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot high‑performance manufacturing equipment.
Responsibilities- Perform the installation, modification, upgrade, and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues using technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
- Maintain records of equipment manufacturers’ technical notices, upgrades, and safety issues.
- Study equipment performance and reliability.
- Establish programs and solutions to increase uptime and resolve equipment problems that affect the manufacturing process.
- Provide technical support to production operators and process engineering organizations.
- Define and write preventative maintenance schedules.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and cleanroom procedures.
- Technical or military training in Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience in a related field.
- 6–10 years of relevant equipment maintenance and repair experience, with semiconductor manufacturing equipment preferred.
- Ability to interpret electrical and electronic schematics, mechanical drawings, piping diagrams, and flow charts.
- Experience in component‑level troubleshooting of analog and digital circuits.
- Experience soldering and desoldering components on printed circuit boards.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing cable harnesses.
- Ability to test and evaluate the condition of electrical components such as transistors, diodes, resistors, and capacitors with an analog or digital multimeter.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to equipment safety and performance.
- Ability to lift and move equipment and materials up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a cleanroom environment, including wearing appropriate cleanroom attire.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
No travel.
Pay RangeThe hourly pay range for this position, which could be performed in Massachusetts, is $24.52 – $53.85. Range is dependent on numerous factors including job location, skills, and experience.
