ResponsibilitiesAs a Delivery Driver, you will transport products safely and deliver office supplies on your assigned route to customers. Depending on volume, you may load your truck. You must ensure safe work practices, embrace and foster our safety culture, organize and load product for delivery using the manifest, ensure an efficient delivery route, provide customer support, accept product returns, and be empowered to make your customers’ day.
You’ll be the brand on wheels and essential to Staples Supply Chain’s success.
- An ability to be a safe and courteous driver capable of navigating a map and all kinds of weather and road conditions
- An ability to make sound decisions in driving, parking, safety, and customer interactions
- An inclusive approach with colleagues and customers to forge strong relationships and foster collaboration to resolve issues
- Ability to use technology including GPS and mobile Proof of Delivery (POD) devices
- Ability and willingness to maintain vehicle cleanliness, perform pre‑trip inspections, and report maintenance concerns
- Valid drivers’ license with a safe driving history and eligibility to drive a commercial motor vehicle
- Pass a DOT physical and drug screen (No THC) permissible by law
- Obtain a 6‑month DOT medical card specific to the role
- Basic English language skills (verbal and written)
- Full‑time associates can work additional hours beyond the scheduled shift; overtime based on business need
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs, push and pull items weighing up to 400 lbs with hand carts or equipment, and occasionally maneuver up to 130 lbs
- Safety composite shoes required
- Minimum 21 years old
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 1 year of truck driving experience (16 ft or longer straight truck) or comparable experience
- High‑volume package delivery experience
- Competitive pay: $23.40–$25.65 per hour based on experience
