The Home Delivered Meals Driver (Temporary) transports prepared meals to home-bound elders and community members with a disability within a specific geographic area during times when regular, volunteer drivers are unavailable. The driver performs a wellness check for each consumer and serves as a link between Age Span and the consumer. Specific geographic areas for this position in the Merrimack Valley communities, to include Lawrence and Lowell.

Driver must be available Monday-Friday mornings, for a maximum of 15 hours per week for this temporary position (ending 5/2/2026).

• Reports to the Site Supervisor or Driver Supervisor directly and Nutrition Program Manager and Director-indirectly
• Collaborates with all Nutrition Department staff members

• Ensures that meals are safely packaged in approved food containers to maintain proper holding
• Reports any issues regarding poor or unsafe food
• Loads meal containers into personal vehicle.
• Follows all traffic and safety laws while on
• Delivers meals to consumers according to a predetermined
• Delivers and sets up meals for consumers in their home when
• Ensures that consumers with specific dietary requirements receive the corresponding
• Conforms to any specific delivery instructions noted for the
• Upon meal delivery, the driver confirms that the consumer is at home and reports any unusual
• Performs a wellness check by delivering each meal directly to the
• Records each meal delivery on the route
• Reports any issues or concerns regarding the consumer immediately to the office and
• Records and reports if a consumer is not at home when the meal delivery is attempted and discards the Meals may only be consumed by the intended recipient.
• Communicates routine information received from the consumer and family members to appropriate agency
• Demonstrates flexibility with changes to delivery schedules or
• Other related duties as

• Attends meetings as required, including staff meetings, in-service trainings, utilization reviews, and collateral agency

• Able to read, write, understand, and interpret basic
• Must have own transportation, current driver's license and must show proof of automobile insurance with a minimum liability coverage of $20,000/$40,000.
• Requires lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds, getting in and out of a vehicle up to 30 times per day, bending, reaching, twisting, walking, and climbing multiple flights of stairs at residences that do not have elevators.
• Requires driving in four season weather conditions.

At Age Span, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining rate of pay. Actual rate of pay depends on factors including but not limited to internal equity, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hour.

Hours per week :
Up to 15 hours per week (M-F, 9am - 12pm)
