This position is responsible for representing the college with civic, business, and educational leaders in the communities served and for planning and delivery of student services for the Lawrence campus.
Essential Functions- Represent the college with civic, business, and educational leaders in the communities served by the Lawrence Campus.
- Manage and direct the daily operations at the Lawrence Campus including facility maintenance and security.
- Serve as the college liaison to provide, coordinate and implement all student and community services at the Lawrence Campus.
- Provide enrollment and student services in the areas of admissions, records, financial aid, registration, testing, business services as well as student discipline.
- Provide advising services as needed for credit and non-credit students.
- Assist as requested with recruitment efforts at area and regional schools as directed and outlined in the college recruitment plan.
- Assist with the collaboration and leading of onboarding activities at the Lawrence Campus.
- Provide indirect supervision and direct support of faculty assigned to the Lawrence Campus.
- Provide updates and requests for improvement of operations and academic schedule to the Dean of Regional Services and Southern Campuses.
- Respond to questions and requests for student and community-related requests through email and social media assigned to the Lawrence Campus.
- Administer the budget for Lawrence Campus according to regulations and guidelines.
- Provide development, oversight of programs and services that result in enrollment, progression, retention and graduation growth for the service area.
- Serve on college committees.
- Supervise full-time staff as assigned.
- Supervise temporary staff, lab monitors, and student workers as assigned.
- Represent the college on boards and local committees.
- Bachelor’s degree, minimum.
- Minimum 2 years full-time supervisory experience in a college or business setting.
- Documented involvement, leadership and success with civic and community activities.
- Knowledge of active listening and general counseling techniques.
- Ability to provide effective individual and group student services counseling.
- Ability to establish, coordinate and implement independent management decisions.
- Knowledge of admissions, financial aid, testing, and records functions.
- Ability to effectively use information technology including Microsoft Office and related applications.
- Ability to interact with students and co-workers in a professional manner.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable to support the goals of the college and its communities.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a professional manner.
- Knowledge of Banner.
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Regular work schedule 7:45 a.m. – 4:15 p.m., Monday through Friday – Evening and weekend hours are necessary at times.
- Visual and hand usage of computer terminal.
- May require travel to other campus locations.
