$17.00/hr – $20.50/hr

Our apprenticeship program is an “earn while you learn” Pharmacy Technician Training Program, recognized by ASHP and the Department of Labor. You’ll guide your path to becoming a pharmacy technician certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) and gain the skills required for a high‑level pharmacy care career.

• Assist the pharmacist under direct supervision in the practice of pharmacy, and perform pharmacy department duties in accordance with company policies.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. If PTCB certified, coach other technicians and cashiers on pharmacy systems and cash registers.
• Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them, offering assistance with products and services, and resolving issues to ensure a positive experience.
• Assist with operations including entering patient and drug information, filling prescriptions, verifying medication accuracy, and checking for interactions.
• Report prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist and follow company policies regarding errors and the Quality Improvement Program.
• Adhere to Good Faith Dispensing policy during all applicable dispensing activities.
• Handle cashier duties, process manual claims, and support inventory management activities.
• Assist with clinical services and coordinate with external providers as needed.
• Maintain relationships with the local medical community and perform outreach to health groups.
• Help keep the pharmacy stocked, clean, and orderly.
• Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

• Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program.
• Attend training requested by manager and acquire continuing education credits.
• Maintain knowledge of latest developments in healthcare and pharmacy.

• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.

• Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
• Prefer strong math skills for accurate prescription filling.
• Prefer good computer skills.
• Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
• Prefer PTCB certification.
