Instructor – Clinical Coordinator Cardiovascular Technology
Full‑time, FLSA‑exempt position in the Health Sciences Division reporting to the Dean of Health Sciences. Salary: $69,680/yr.
Minimum Qualifications- Associate’s degree in a related field.
- R‑Certified in one of the following:
Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), Registered Cardiovascular Diagnostic Sonographer (RDCS), or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS). - Minimum of two years of experience in the field (R‑Certified).
- Prior experience with JRC‑CVT accreditation.
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- Prior instruction in a JRC‑CVT accredited program and curriculum development experience.
- Experience teaching college‑level courses at two‑year or technical colleges.
- Experience with advanced instructional technologies and inclusive teaching strategies.
- Strong collaboration skills with faculty, staff, students, and the community.
- Excellent written and oral communication; computer literacy; experience with online instruction is a plus.
Under general supervision, prepares lesson plans for classroom, lab, or clinical instruction for Cardiovascular Technology or Echocardiography courses at Gwinnett Technical College. Implements program curriculum to meet state, national, and accreditation standards, develops program syllabi, delivers face‑to‑face, hybrid, and online classes, evaluates student progress, maintains equipment, supplies, and program certification, prepares documentation, attends professional development, ensures safety, and participates in recruitment, retention, and job placement.
Responsibilities- Develop and update lesson plans, curricula, and syllabi.
- Teach classroom, lab, and clinical courses (face‑to‑face, hybrid, and online).
- Assess student learning and progress against objectives.
- Coordinate clinical affiliations and manage student clinical schedules.
- Maintain equipment, supplies, and program budgets.
- Ensure safety and security in training areas.
- Assist in accreditation, self‑study, and curriculum development processes.
- Submit administrative reports and maintain records.
- Participate in faculty meetings, conferences, and professional development.
- Support recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.
Frequency:
Never, occasionally, or constantly. Requires operation, access, or control of financial resources; operation of machinery or power tools; ability to move objects up to 100 pounds with or without accommodation; ability to perform repeated motions; ability to operate vehicle. Requires standing or sitting for prolonged periods, working in outdoor elements, and maintaining a presence on campus during regular business hours.
