Job Summary
Georgia Gwinnett College is now accepting applications for part‑time faculty positions in Physics in the School of Science & Technology for the academic year 2025‑2026. The posting will remain active for AY25‑26 hiring (Fall, Spring, and Summer). Part‑time faculty positions are semester‑based positions and report directly to the Department Chair. Courses may be conducted in various delivery modes, such as face‑to‑face, online, hybrid, and/or blended formats.
These positions are on an as‑needed basis. Positions require additional time outside of class to provide written feedback to students and to meet individually with students throughout the semester. Part‑time faculty may teach in the fall, spring, and/or summer semesters. Classes at Georgia Gwinnett College are offered morning, afternoon, and evening including weekends.
- Develop the course curricula, including the syllabus, lesson plans, and graded assignments, in accordance with the requirements of the upper division program and in consultation with the Associate Provost for Academic Affairs.
- Review, evaluate, and recommend student learning materials.
- Evaluate students to measure their progress in achieving institutional and course goals.
A minimum of a master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours (or 30 quarter hours) in the teaching discipline.
Preferred Qualifications- Terminal degree in the teaching discipline
- 1‑year college‑level teaching
- Sustained professional engagement that demonstrates relevance and currency in the field of teaching.
Strong commitment to undergraduate education, student engagement, and service to the college and community. GGC is an institution that values innovative teaching, advising, and mentoring (advising and mentoring are expected of all faculty).
