Job SummaryThe Department of Elementary Education within the School of Education at GGC invites applications for Part‑time Faculty positions in the area of Elementary Education. The successful candidate will have knowledge of best practices in elementary classrooms and experience with supervising teacher candidates in field experiences. This position is to create a pool of interested candidates from which the department may draw as courses become available.
The posting will remain active for AY25‑26 hiring (Fall, Spring, and Summer).
Part‑time faculty positions are semester‑based positions and report directly to the Department Chair. Courses may be conducted in various delivery modes, such as face‑to‑face, online, hybrid and/or blended formats. These positions are on an as‑needed basis. Positions require additional time outside of class to provide written feedback to students and to meet individually with students throughout the semester. Part‑time faculty may teach in the fall, spring, and/or summer semesters.
Classes at Georgia Gwinnett College are offered morning, afternoon and evening including weekends.
- Develop course curricula, including the syllabus, lesson plans, and graded assignments, in accordance with program requirements and in consultation with the Associate Provost for Academic Affairs.
- Review, evaluate and recommend student learning materials.
- Evaluate students to measure their progress in achieving institutional and course goals.
- Submit required paperwork related to instruction in a timely and accurate manner.
A minimum of a master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours (or 30 quarter hours) in the teaching discipline.
Preferred Qualifications- Terminal degree in the teaching discipline.
- 1‑year college‑level teaching experience.
- Sustained professional engagement that demonstrates relevance and currency in the field of teaching.
